How many times have you been served rubbery, dry crab legs?
Most of the crab legs available in grocery stores have been pre-cooked then frozen. It’s just the way it is. These can be great if you know the best way to warm them up.
Today crab legs were on sale for $6.75/pound. To put this in perspective, a certain seafood chain serves over-cooked crab legs for $19.99 a pound and you are lucky if you can pry the meat out of the shell.
Here is a list of what you need:
2-3 pounds of snow crab legs
2 lemons
2 cups seafood stock
5-10 cloves of peeled garlic
seafood seasoning
salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 425 degrees and line a roasting pan with foil
Rinse the crab legs in cold water to remove any chunks of ice and arrange in the roasting pan.
Quarter the lemons and add to pan with garlic, salt and pepper to taste, and a sprinkle of seafood seasoning and add seafood stock.
Fold up the foil and build a “tent” over the crab legs. Make sure to seal it up so that the crab legs can steam within the roasting pan. Bake for 20 minutes.
The meat should be juicy and tender and easily come out of the shells.
